Software Engineer- Mainframe

Job Responsibilities:
  • Entry level position working under leadership of senior developer with very specific tasks.
  • Completes entry level assignments with a single or narrow focus.
  • Reviews and clarifies requirements.
  • Participates in design sessions.
  • Detailed specifications provided, or assistance is immediately available.
  • Complete coding on straightforward assignments or smaller, less complex systems.
  • Completes unit testing successfully; assists others with debugging and program logic.
  • Assignments principally involve assisting more senior personnel with maintenance, making simple modifications or expansion of existing systems which are well defined and deal with routine business transactions / issues.
  • Less complex module design.
  • Well developed written and verbal communications skills.
  • Achieves harmonious working relationships with business partners.

Eligibility Criteria:
  • B.Tech./MCA/Graduation (Minimum 15 years of formal education, Correspondence courses are not relevant).
  • 1.5 to 2.9 years of experience
  • Executed projects using these technology – COBOL, JCL & DB2 / CICS.
  • Should have worked on Microsoft IDE
  • Exposure to Unit Testing (Plan, Prepare & Execute).
  • Exp. in Xpediter, VSAM
  • Should be able to work independently with minimum support/mentoring
  • Willing to learn new technology

Sr. Software Engineer- Mainframe
Requisition No: 317998

Job Responsibilities:
  • Designing, coding, debugging, documenting and supporting efficient and effective computer applications and tools consistent with established specifications and business requirements.
  • Interpret business requirements related to a significant element of a system application.
  • Assist with design or enhancements of straightforward aspects of less complex systems.
  • Completes efficient coding on complex applications.
  • Document unit test plans; completes unit testing successfully.
  • Provide input / assist in conducting system feasibility studies.
  • Assist with evaluation of systems scope and objectives.
  • Guides, trains, instructs and assists others at lower levels on straightforward technical issues.

Qualifications:
  • B.Tech./MCA/Graduation (Minimum 15 years of formal education, Correspondence courses are not relevant).
  • 3–4.2 years of total experience
  • Should have executed the complete SDLC on at least one project using COBOL, JCL, DB2 / CICS.
  • Should have played the role of a technical mentor in his career.
  • Should have worked on VSAM, exposure to Xpediter.
  • Should be able to execute Unit Testing (Plan, Prepare & Execute).
  • Willing to learn new technology.
