QA Engineer II for Insurance Fraud Manager (IFM)
Department ResponsibilitiesAs a member of a team of software professionals tasked with the definition, building, execution and maintenance of a comprehensive, software test suite for an enterprise business rule management and execution platform.
This lead position in technical track is expected to work in an independent manner with responsibility for carrying out software quality assurance activities in Blaze Advisor and Desion Management tools Specifically. Following are the major responsibilities:
- Perform software quality assurance activities on projects through all stages of development including project planning, design, implementation and release.
- Work with managers, developers, testers and users to ensure software quality assurance requirements are met throughout all phases of development;
- Assisting where needed to support users and customers with issues or problems.
Individuals will be required to:
- Fully understand the functionality and objectives of the target software
- Participate in software requirements and design reviews; contribute software quality assurance requirements to project plans, schedules and software designs
- Design and implement thorough, clear, concise test plans taking into consideration the requirements and testing objectives
- Participate in QA project planning and scheduling.
- Perform system, integration and regression testing; in areas with highly specified domain requirements, work with domain experts to formulate and execute testing strategies.
- Design and implement Automate regression tests in QTP and/or Java for multiple target environments
- Produce formalized documentation for all stages of test development and execution, including results
- Provide input and guidance to less experienced QA engineers in dealing with difficult problems related to testing approaches, areas of application functionality, or specific technical knowledge.
- Isolate and solve problems and have the ability to make decisions in order to recognize symptoms, gather and analyze data and determine a solution
- Support internal clients by investigating, recreating problems and finding solutions for users to continue their work
- Communicate product readiness, level of quality, and results to Quality Assurance Manager and the project team.
Minimum Education, Experience and Skills Required
In order to complete the tasks above, the ideal candidate must have the following skills:
- Graduate/Postgraduate Eningeer in Comp/Elect./Electronics.
- QA testing experience minimum 6 years and familiarity with Software Quality testing philosophy and best practices.
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Hands-on QTP and/or Java test development experience
- Ability to identify and write test cases and test documents
- Good communication skills – verbal and written
- Working experience on Windows XP/2000/2003/Vista
- Work independently with minimum supervision, retaining flexibility in working methods and schedules
The following skills are highly desired in the ideal candidate:
- Excellent testing skills and experience with commercial software development processes on Windows-based PC's, browser-based applications, multi-tiered client/server environments.
- Experience with Weblogic, Tomcat and IBM Websphere
- Experience working with complex object-oriented data structures and relational databases
- Experience with Java, J2EE, XML and Web Services.
- Experience building testing frameworks
- Experience with Java programming and/or QTP
The following skills are good to have:
- Software development experience in Java and/or C# (.NET)
- Experience on Unix.
- Technical skills using SQL and RDBMS (Oracle and/or IBM DB2 Universal Database) technology.
- Experience in developing and implementing test automation tools, automated test cases, and scripts in VB, Java, Perl, Python, SQL, Korn shell or any other programming language.
