Job Summary
The Sr. Batch Analyst is responsible for programming and testing the batch systems to meet the needs of the client's requirements, and providing technology support in a team environment.
Associate in this role:
Is responsible for ensuring that the batch system operates smoothly and remains current; Works closely with other analysts to create a comprehensive system platform that supports all client requirements. Caution:

Responsibility Areas
1. Programs assigned tasks based on analysis and documents code using System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology
2. Test Plan Execution
· Identifies/creates test cases based on test plans
· Executes test plans and documents testing results
· Creates defects as needed when actual results don't meet expected results
· Performs batch regression testing
3. Production Deployment
· Prepares programs for production deployment including documentation and automated job submission following SDLC procedures and standards
· Creates, or assists PAA in creating, Standard Operating Procedures for Ongoing Delivery Group (ODG) team, and organizes handoff meetings for initial creation of the SOPs
4. Ongoing Production Support
· Supports the production schedule
· Restarts failed jobs
· Performs defect analysis and correction
5. Systems/Code Analysis Assistance
· Reviews client requirements documents, interface layouts, and any preliminary analysis
· Identifies needed programming to meet client requirements
· Completes SDLC analysis artifacts with programming needs
· Hands off analysis artifacts to PAs/BTAs
6. Test Plan Design Assistance
· Reviews client requirements documents, interface layouts, and any preliminary test plans
· Identifies needed test cases
· Completes test plans with test case needs following SDLC guidelines
7. Technical Coaching of newer BTAs Analysis Assistance
· Assists in the delivery of training for new BTAs
· Conducts on-the-job training for new hire programmers
· Performs code reviews or analysis reviews for other BTAs
Knowledge & Experience: Should have 1 to 2.5 yearrs of work experience. Basic knowledge of mainframe is a must - Should be able to comfortably navigate in the environment Strong knowledge of SDLC principles and application to various workflows Hands on exposure in SAS programming is a must Hands on exposure to JCL's and IBM Utilities (IEBCOPY, IEBGENER etc) is a must Ability to comprehend complex program written in SAS is a must Hands on exposure in writing SQL Queries is a must Strong knowledge of relational database concepts is a must Exposure to one of the services/domain DB/DC/HM is an added advantage Strong TBA knowledge is an added advantage Personal Attributes:
Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills. Excellent listening, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Highly self motivated and directed and exhibits good attitude Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure. Strong customer service orientation. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Ability to work through others. Formal Education & Certification Engineering Graduate - Any Field OR MCA Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies including project tracking and status reporting desirable
